The Education Committee is offering an Intermediate Abstractor’s School on March 4th. They developed this course to help bridge the gap between the Basic and Advanced Abstractor’s Schools. The Basic School offers a ton of information but even with two days, there’s not enough time to get past fairly basic training on legal descriptions and an overview of things like compiling and court cases.
Students of this course MUST have passed the Abstractor’s Exam. The assumption will be that students have a healthy basic understanding of abstracting concepts. This course will be VERY hands on. Students will get involved with more advanced legal descriptions including plotting metes and bounds descriptions and curves. They will also do actual compiling of abstracts.
We’ve applied for CE credit with the OID in case you have someone who has both licenses.
The course will be located at OSU/OKC near 10th and Portland in Oklahoma City. We’ll start promptly at 8:00 AM and will provide both breakfast and lunch.
